TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR PRIVATE CONTRACTORS EMPLOYED AT THE BOW QUARTER
 
The following terms and conditions are applicable to all private contractors working on the Bow Quarter Estate. It is important to note
 
1. REGISTRATION
 
All contractors that fall within sections 3 or 5 below must sign in at the Security Lodge upon arrival and then report to the Estate Office.
 
2. CONTRACTORS’ INSURANCE
 
All contractors wishing to work on site are required to have adequate public liability insurance (Minimum £5 million) as well as comprehensive insurance for all vehicles entering the estate in order to carry out their works.
 
3. HEALTH AND SAFETY
 
The following works will require permission from the Estate Office and as such contractors will need to undertake registration as outlined in Section 1 above.

  • Hot Works i.e. for any works using a naked flame. 
  • Work in communal areas
Risk and method statements are likely to be required. All works are to be carried out in a safe manner, and all required safety procedures adhered to.
 
Any works carried out in an unsafe manner will be stopped by estate staff until relevant safety standards are met.
 
4. REFUSE
 
Any rubbish, old appliances or materials of any description removed or replaced in the course of works are to be removed from site by the contractor. Any contractor waste removed by site staff  will be charged for removal (currently £250.00 per event) regardless of size/quantity. Where numerous removals are required, the charge will be applied per trip.
 
 5. WORK IN COMMON/PUBLIC AREAS
 
Contractors are not authorised to work in common/public areas unless specifically authorised to do so by the Estate Manager. Where such permission is granted, the contractor is responsible for leaving the area in a clean and tidy condition. Failure to do so will incur contract-cleaning charges based on an hourly rate of £40.00 per hour. (This also applies to any additional cleaning that is required in the event of refuse removal described above).
 
6. PARKING
 
Contractors will, if possible, be allocated parking on arrival at the request of the resident. Failure to park in designated areas will result in the issue of a Parking Notice resulting in a fine as advertised.
 
7. CONTRACTORS ACTION ON LEAVING THE BOW QUARTER
 
Contractors who have signed in at the Security Lodge must notify security staff when leaving, and book in again on return.
 
8. SITE ACCESS TIMES FOR CONTRACTORS
 
Contractors are only permitted on site between 08:30-17:30 Mon-Fri. Power tools or noise is not permitted before 09.00 hrs. Contractors are not permitted to work at weekends without the prior written authority of the Estate Manager.
